DCLA High School Course Descriptions

Introduction

This document provides course descriptions for classes offered at Deer Creek-Lamont High School. The descriptions are designed to help students and parents better understand course expectations, graduation requirements, and opportunities available as students plan their academic pathways and future goals.

Course offerings at Deer Creek-Lamont Schools are aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS) and the graduation requirements established by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the DCLA Board of Education. In addition to core academic courses, DCLA offers a variety of electives, concurrent enrollment opportunities, career and technical education pathways, athletics, fine arts, and work-based learning experiences designed to prepare students for college, careers, military service, and life after high school.

Students and parents are encouraged to carefully review course descriptions, prerequisites, and graduation requirements before enrollment. Some courses may require teacher approval, prior coursework, grade-level classification, or enrollment through external programs such as concurrent college coursework or technology center partnerships.
