Free training event for high school students to take place June 2-6  


Andover, KAN. (April 25, 2025) – The Butler Community College Career and Workforce Education Department will host a Fiber Optics Boot Camp for the next generation of tech talent June 2-6. This free five-day event for high school students offers hands-on training from industry professionals. On June 6, participants can attend a career fair featuring a diverse range of companies and potential employers.

Attendees who complete the program will earn three certifications recognized by the Fiber Optics Association: Certified Fiber Optics Technician, Certified Fiber Optics Specialist/Testing & Maintenance, and Certified Fiber Optics Specialist Outside Plant Cabling.

Students 17+ are welcome with no prior experience necessary. Recent high school graduates are also encouraged to attend. Free lunch will be provided each day.
