Join the Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, April 25, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in Medford (115 North 1st, just off Highway 81). This is a safe and easy way to dispose of unused or expired medications and help keep our homes and community safe.
Bring prescription meds, over-the-counter medications, pills, liquids, and more. Needles and sharps are accepted if they are in a puncture-proof container.
Free resources and giveaways will be available while supplies last, including Narcan, fentanyl test strips, xylazine test strips, and Deterra drug disposal kits.
Plus, enjoy hot dogs, chips, cookies, and bottled water while you’re there 🌭🍪🥤

Deer Creek-Lamont Schools is looking for a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher to join our team! This is a great opportunity to make an impact in a supportive, small-school environment while helping students discover a love for music. 🎼

This position provides one-on-one support for a student with significant behavioral and physical needs. It is a hands-on role for someone who is patient, dependable, and committed to helping students succeed.

Approximately 3 hours per day, Monday–Thursday (school days)

Support a student with severe behavioral challenges
Use de-escalation and redirection strategies

Move quickly, including running if needed
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and floor movement

Deer Creek-Lamont is proud to host the Cherokee Strip Conference Track Meet tomorrow, April 21! We’re excited to welcome schools from across the conference for a full day of competition.
Field events will begin at 9:30 AM, with running events starting at 10:30 AM. Come out and support our JH and HS athletes as they compete and represent DCLA! ❤️🤍💙
Concessions will be available, so bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a great day of track and field.

Last Saturday, April 10, our two junior high Fortnite teams competed in the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports League State Playoffs!
To even qualify for this level of competition, teams had to rank in the top 24 out of 56 teams across the state — a huge accomplishment in itself 👏
Van and Reyden, along with alternate Eli, wrapped up a strong season after battling in Round 1 of the playoffs. They showed great teamwork and determination all season long 💪
Reagan and Connor had an incredible run, finishing the season undefeated and earning 4th place in the entire state 🏆🔥
We are proud of all of these students for representing DCLA so well. They competed with skill, sportsmanship, and effort every step of the way. Great job, Eagles! 🦅🎮





Reading kicks things off April 14–15, and our students are ready to soar.
Families, please help your child be prepared by making sure they get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast in the morning. Tests begin first thing, and a rested, fueled brain makes a big difference.

What an incredible honor for DCLA basketball! 🏀🦅
Congratulations to Brice Bledsoe on being named Enid News & Eagle All-Northwest Oklahoma Co-Player of the Year for the 2025–26 season! Brice had an outstanding year, averaging 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game while helping lead the Eagles to the Class B-II State Tournament for the second straight season. Along the way, DCLA also claimed championships at the Pond Creek-Hunter, Medford, and Cherokee Strip Tournaments. What a season! 👏🔥
Congratulations also to Logan Sutherland on being named to the All-Northwest Oklahoma team after averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds per game this season. Logan was a strong inside presence for the Eagles every game. 💪

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the 5th and 6th grade students will not be attending the track meet tomorrow, April 8. 🏃♂️❌
Instead, students will travel to the high school track and practice events tomorrow afternoon. 🏟️💪

Students will step into the role of a business leader by joining a “company,” working as a team, and competing in real-world business challenges. Along the way, they will build skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, money management, entrepreneurship, and marketing while learning directly from business professionals. Students will also experience college life, meet new people, explore career options, and have opportunities to earn scholarships and prizes.
The cost starts at $200 and includes housing and meals for the entire week, with additional merit- and need-based scholarships available so that finances are not a barrier.
Spots are limited to 60 students, and the final application deadline is May 1, so do not wait to apply.
