We finished out the fair with a chicken show and horse show! Congratulations to all of our showmen on representing DCLA so well! I missed a picture with Chloe.
DCLA always puts in a few extra hours of class work to do indoor projects for the county fair! We didn't have as many this year but the quality was great!
Last week was a busy week for DCLA AG and FFA! A few of our officers took time out of the busy week to read to the elementary students for ODAFF Read an Accurate Ag Book Week! Thank you to our officers, and the teachers that welcomed us into their classrooms to share our passion for agriculture!

Seniors will work on applications to colleges, career technology programs, and other postsecondary programs during College Application Week, September 21–25!
College Application Week gives seniors dedicated time and support to explore their options, complete applications, request transcripts, and take an important step toward their plans after high school.
It will also be a busy week for DCLA FFA! On Tuesday, September 22, officers will attend Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT). Our FFA officers will also serve at the Farm Bureau meeting.
We’re excited to see our Eagles preparing for their futures through college, career, service, and leadership opportunities! ❤️🤍💙

🎓 Scholarship + FAFSA Night — October 8 at 5:30 PM
DCLA juniors, seniors, and their parents are invited to join us in Mrs. Bledsoe’s classroom for a scholarship and FAFSA presentation from the Oklahoma College Assistance Program (OCAP).
Following the presentation, OCAP will host a FAFSA workshop for seniors and their parents. We will help families begin and complete the FAFSA application. Students will need to bring their school computers.
OCAP helps Oklahoma students and families plan for, pay for, and succeed in college. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive free, hands-on assistance! ❤️🤍💙
🇺🇸 On Tuesday, DCLA juniors and seniors spent lunch and homeroom visiting with a National Guard recruiter—and enjoying the pizza he brought! 🍕
He shared his experiences and explained how serving in the National Guard has helped him develop valuable skills and create opportunities for his future. Students learned about career options and ways the National Guard can help them reach their goals.
He also discussed the ASVAB, which helps students identify their strengths and explore possible career paths. Our juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to take the ASVAB in November.

Our students had an exciting visit from OHP Officer Tanner, who stopped by to show us her new Oklahoma Highway Patrol car! 🚓✨
We got to check out the new running board lights 💡, hear the different siren 🚨🔊, and learn a little more about her patrol car.
The students were so excited and loved getting an up-close look! 🤩👏

🎓 DCLA Students Are Getting a Head Start on College!
Eleven DCLA juniors and seniors are currently earning 66 college credit hours through concurrent enrollment! Their courses range from Comp I and Digital and Financial Literacy to U.S. Government and Introduction to Speech.
Our students are experiencing college in several different ways. Some attend live classes through Zoom, some travel to campus for in-person instruction, and others complete asynchronous online courses on their own schedules. These flexible options provide access to a wider variety of courses and opportunities.
Concurrent enrollment allows students to challenge themselves, build confidence and independence, and strengthen skills such as organization and time management. They experience the expectations of college-level work while still having the support and guidance of their high school teachers when they have questions or are unsure about what to do next.
By earning college credit while still in high school, students may also reduce the time and money needed to complete a future degree. We are proud of these students for taking advantage of opportunities that can open doors and prepare them for success after graduation! ❤️🤍💙

DCLA students have the opportunity to attend an ACT Prep Workshop at NOC Tonkawa on Thursday, October 1. This workshop will help students learn testing strategies, practice important skills, and build confidence before taking the ACT.
This is an especially timely opportunity for our 10th graders, who will take the PreACT shortly after the workshop!
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the workshop will run from 9:00–11:30 a.m. Students must register online using the link or QR code on the flyer. The workshop fee is $20, payable at the door.
Mrs. Bledsoe will take interested students, and the group will eat at Simple Simon’s afterward. The buffet costs approximately $12.
The school will provide transportation to and from the workshop only. Students are responsible for the $20 workshop fee, lunch, and any other expenses.
Students should register and then let Mrs. Bledsoe know they plan to attend. Take advantage of this great opportunity to prepare for the ACT or PreACT! 📚
