Elementary students will bring home a Treasure Map today that explains how they can earn free books 📖, fun prizes 🎁, and entries for special rewards, including a Treasure Chest filled with cash 💰 and the Epic Treasure Chest grand prize 🏆. Any student who completes their Treasure Map with their family will earn prizes. The first 24 students to finish will receive their prizes as early as tomorrow ⏰, so we encourage families to make this the first thing you do after school today.
Teachers are launching Operation Book Blast in classrooms today and sending a Treasure Map home with each student 🗺️. Prizes for completed Treasure Maps will be available in the office tomorrow morning, so students should stop by the office first thing before heading to class 🏫😊
Thank you for supporting reading, excitement, and school spirit through Operation Book Blast 💙🦅

The first round of the Cherokee Strip Conference Tournament tips off tonight at Pioneer High School. Our girls will take the floor at 6:00 PM, with the boys' game to follow ⏰🦅

Good luck to our Eagles as tournament play begins. Let’s go DCLA! 💙🦅

We're excited to partner with Books Are Fun and the Book Blast program to grow our students' home libraries and encourage more reading over screen time! Tonight, we're asking you to take 7 minutes to support your Student Home Library initiative.
Today, our students learned about the Book Blast Program and the importance of having their own books at home. Tonight, we are asking you to take 7 minutes to support our Student Home Library initiative.
Get started here: https://app.booksarefun.com/DeerCreekLES74636
How it works:
Click the link and register your student(s).
Invite at least 10 friends or family to support your student(s). (Info is secure and only used for this program.)
Need help? Watch this short video: Family Explainer Video
Win a trip to Disney!
Each supporter who clicks your student's link earns an entry for a chance to win a Disney trip. More clicks = more entries! For example, if five different people click the link, your family gets five entries into the drawing!
Pro Tip: After sending invitations, follow up with a phone call to make sure they received the message.
Why I love this program:
Every student gets new, age-appropriate books.
100% of contributions go to books and classroom supplies.
Takes less than 10 minutes and NO financial requirement from you.
Check out the attached book list—it's amazing!
More books at home = more reading! We're aiming for 100% participation

Today, our 7th–12th-grade students came together to prepare and share a Christmas meal of ham, potatoes, corn, green beans, bread, and desserts. Sitting down together as a school family made the day even more special.
Moments like these remind us what community is all about. Merry Christmas from DCLA.

As we enjoy our winter break (Dec. 22 – Jan. 5), we’re so thankful for our students, families, and staff who make showing up a priority.
If your family needs support during the break, reach out to:
