Get ready, Eagle fans. Our Homecoming Pep Rally is set for Thursday, December 18, at 2:30 p.m. in the high school gym, and we want the stands packed.

Bring your spirit, your noise, and your Eagle pride as we hype up our teams for Homecoming week. Students, parents, alumni, and community members are all invited to join the excitement.

After visiting with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office this evening, it has been confirmed that it is safe for students and staff to return to school as normal at both sites. Thank you, Mr. Bledsoe

DCLA Elementary is currently on lockdown at the request of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office as they search for a person of interest. All students and staff are safe. We will keep you updated as we receive more information.

Homecoming is almost here, Eagle fans. Festivities begin Friday, December 19, at 3:30 p.m., and the gym is the place to be.

Our boys tip off at 4:00 p.m., followed by our girls, as we take on the Medford Cardinals in a Homecoming showdown.

Elementary Parent Reminder: Students are practicing in Lamont today, Tuesday, Dec. 9. Students will be ready for pick up at 3:20. Deer Creek students will arrive back at Deer Creek around 3:25.

🩸 Join us TODAY to give the gift of LIFE! The OBI BLOOD MOBILE will be at the high school from 10-1:30! Oklahoma is in an emergency blood shortage and needs our help! Come and support our community and OBI and donate blood!! 🩸

Join us tonight for a festive evening of music at the DCLA Event Center.
The Elementary Christmas Program will kick things off at 6:00 p.m., followed by performances from our JH/HS Choir and JH/HS Band.

Come celebrate the season and support our students as they take the stage!

This weekend 8 of our members took the opportunity to grow as leaders and attend LEAD 360. This conference promotes leadership at new levels and encourages students to step out of their comfort zones and become leaders in their schools, chapters, and communities! We are so excited for this group of students and proud of them for taking this opportunity!

Mobile Blood Drive at DCLA
The Oklahoma Blood Institute mobile unit will be on campus Tuesday, December 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We invite students, staff, parents, and community members to stop by and donate if you are able. Your donation makes a real difference for patients across our state.

Thank you for supporting this important cause and helping us give back to our community.

The elementary basketball game has changed to 3:00.

Our DCLA FFA Booster club held its annual Bird Hunt Fundraiser Saturday! They had an amazing turnout with 48 hunters from across Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas! Huge thank you to our two sponsors, Grant County Farm Bureau-Marcie Lusk and Taylor Crop Insurance! Also thank you to the group we couldn't do it without, our land owners who allow us to hunt their fields! Thank you to all the members and students that helped prepare and serve breakfast and lunch and the guides that spent the day making sure it was a success! We are already looking forward to another great year next year!

Where Are They Now? — Heather Hill Bledsoe, Class of 1997

Heather Hill Bledsoe, DCLA Class of 1997, has dedicated her life to public education. She holds an associate degree in Agriculture from NOC, a bachelor’s in Agricultural Education from OSU, and a master’s in Educational Leadership from SWOSU. She is currently pursuing her second master’s degree in School Counseling at the University of Oklahoma.

Now in her 20th year in education, Heather has taught AG Ed, special education, English, reading, speech/drama, and served as an instructional coach and assistant principal. Today, she’s proud to be back at DCLA as the high school English teacher and the school counselor for the entire district—a role that brings her full circle. She’s happy to be home.

Heather has been married to Dale Bledsoe for 20 years. Together they have two sons—Braden (DCLA Class of 2025), studying secondary math education at NWOSU, and Brice (DCLA Class of 2026). She’s also a proud bonus mom to Brittni Bledsoe Carnes and Nana to Karter and Kooper Carnes.

Heather enjoys reading, watching her boys play basketball, and playing cards with her parents, siblings, and all the kids—soaking up every moment with family.
