Congratulations to Dawson Scott for placing 4th in the long jump at the Class A State Track Meet! We’re proud of you, Dawson! Brice, Logan, and Will also represented DCLA well—each turned in strong performances and earned some personal records along the way. Great job, boys! Way to finish the season strong, DCLA track team!

Bristol represented DCLA well this week at the State FFA Convention. She was selected through and application process and audition to sing in the State FFA Chorus! She went down two days prior to convention for full days of practice and performances. Congratulations Bristol on such a huge accomplishment!

The Senior Baccalaureate will be held on Sunday, May 11, at 6:00 PM at the First Christian Church of Lamont. All are welcome to attend and support our graduating seniors.

On Thursday our 1st-4th graders will compete in the Grant County Relay meet at Medford. There will be a concession stand available. Good luck young Eagles!

Our high school boys track team had a great showing at Regionals! • Tate set a PR in shot put and placed 6th • Chase set a PR in the 100 hurdles, and another PR with a 4th place finish in the 800M • Dawson is the Regional Champion in long jump and qualified for state! • Logan placed 3rd in the 400M and is headed to state • Will took 3rd in the 100M and 4th in the 200M—state qualifier in both! • Brice is the Regional Champion in the 800M and also qualified for state in high jump! Great job, boys, Coach Bledsoe, and Coach Hohmann—we’re proud of you! Let’s go, DCLA!

Get ready for Staff Appreciation Week at DCLA, May 5–8! We’re celebrating our amazing staff with a blast from the past—each day features a fun dress-up theme and a way to show gratitude: Monday: 50s Sock Hop Dress in your best 50s attire and give a thank-you note to your favorite staff—let them know they’re the “Bee’s Knees!” Tuesday: 60s Tie-Dye Day Wear tie-dye and spread peace! Bring flowers for a staff member who brightens your day. Wednesday: 80s Neon Day Rock your best 80s look and deliver neon sticky notes or a mini pack of gum to a favorite staff member. Thursday: 90s Throwback Break out the grunge or bright 90s colors and surprise staff with a cool drink or treat—tell them why they’re “the coolest!” Let’s show our staff how much we appreciate them!

🎮 Esports Update from DCLA! Tate and Dawson represented our high school in the state playoffs on Tuesday, April 29. The virtual tournament occurred in the DCLA Esports room, and they competed throughout the morning. If they advance to the championship match, it will be held in person on May 5! 👏 Be sure also to congratulate Paxton and Joseph from the junior high! Both qualified for the state playoffs in the small schools division. Paxton couldn’t compete due to a conflict, but Joseph gave it his all and finished #3 in the state! Good luck, Eagles! 🦅🎮

Hey parents! It’s time to round up all those library books! 📚 Our libraries will close at the end of the week to complete their inventories. Please check backpacks, cars, and around the house for any books that belong to the school. Getting all our books back helps us save money and keeps our library full for next year’s readers.
