CONGRATULATIONS to our FFA Public Speakers on a week of great contests! Bristol and Jonas competed at two contests in the extemporaneous category, Derby competed at one contest also in extemporaneous and Piper competed in the 9th grade creed contest at one contest!! This is the number one fear in the United States and I am so proud of these students for doing these contests!!

DCLA boys took 1st place at the Jesse James HS Invitational at Covington on March 28, 2025, finishing with 67 points and edging out Cherokee by just 1 point. The team showed incredible effort across 17 events. Highlights: • Lincoln Taylor placed 2nd in the 400m with a time of 53.82, and he placed 5th in the high jump with a height of 6’0”. • Brice Bledsoe secured 2nd place in the 800m with an impressive time of 2:11.40. • Tripp Briggs claimed 1st place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.73. • The DCLA relay team (Will, Lincoln, Logan, Tripp) dominated the 4x200m relay, securing 1st place with a time of 1:36.78. • The DCLA relay team (Lincoln, Logan, Tripp, Brice) also finished 2nd in the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:51.15. • Tate Darling performed well in the shot put, placing 5th with a distance of 37’5.5”. Extra congratulations to Chase Andrews for placing 6th and Christian Walls for being just out of the top 10 with a 12th place finish, leading their team to 4th place in the vet science contest!!
